G.R.O. Cita (Rosa Rosal) looks after the sick old mother of Korean war hero Vic (Tony Santos Sr.) who finds his dying mother in the slum ruins of a cathedral. Vic ignores Cita’s withdrawal as she feels despised by Vic for her kind of work. To amuse Vic, Cita’s young brother Ipe brings him along while he watches over cars. Though without money, Vic drinks in a bar and gets into trouble. Good thing bar owner Cardo (Jose De Cordova) knows Vic from the war. Cita brings home drunken Vic who appears reticent but is in truth despondent over his useless left arm since he was a sculptor before becoming a soldier. Fr. Fidel brings carving books and statues for Vic to work on. Then in a special statue he has deliver to Hong Kong, the unscrupulous Cardo sees a chance to smuggle
money to Hong Kong and tells Vic to make a hollow in the statue. Concerned for vic’s safety, Cita removes the money and Cardo goes after Cita but shoots at Ipe instead.
