Cebuano nurse Yves Campos raised the Philippine flag in Myanmar by winning all the major awards and the 2019 Mister Tourism and Culture Universe (Mister TCU) title on Saturday night.
The newly crowned Mister TCU 2019 bested 14 other male candidates from all over the world in the international pageant held on August 31 in Yangon.
The pageant representative from Cebu in the Visayas islands of the Philippines bagged the Best National Costume award for showcasing the Maranao art and Sarimanok on August 27. Yves Campos also won the Popularity Award online voting in the finals.
In the finals, Campos aced the Q & A portion for answering the question: “As an ambassador of tourism, what would you do to promote the tourism industry worldwide?”
The Cebuano hunk who loves to vlog cited technology and social media as tools in promoting tourism and connected to his personal experience. He has been vlogging his pageant journey in Myanmar.
“Technology has been everywhere in our lives. Given the honor to be the next Mister TCU, I will use this to promote tourism. Social media has been the most valuable tool. And I believe, the best way to vlogging. Vlogging is a short video where people would know and experience,” said Campos.
“And recently, I created a vlog and it created a great impact. If given a chance I will give my 120 percent to promote tourism through the use of vlogging. Because I believe that tourism is our backbone, of every county’s identity and we should we proud of it,” Yves Campos added.
